While the statuettes at the Oscars are sparkling in gold, the stars’ make-up was anything but glitzy. Red lips, smoky eyes and nude hues made for a classic night when it came to make-up.

Red lips are always a popular choice on the red carpet and Angelina Jolie, Milla Jovovich and Rooney Mara all chose to flaunt the look.

Both Milla and Rooney kept the look super modern with a matte finish, while Angelina added a slight sheen to her lips for an ultimately more sultry vibe.

Jennifer Lopez, Penelope Cruz, Rose Byrne and Natalie Porman all chose a smoky eye for the biggest awards ceremony in the US calendar.

Jennifer blended a silver shadow into her charcoal smoky eye, which stopped it from looking too heavy

My favourite beauty look goes to Emma Stone, who was brave enough to wear a pink

lip and match it to delicate pink eyeshadow. The look was really subtle, but also really beautiful and was a great lesson in how sometimes less really is more, especially when you’re wearing such a show-stealing gown as a red Giambattista Valli.

Stacey Keibler's mellow blond waves stayed on one shoulder thanks to a neat roll along the back of her neck. "I wanted to create a look that was soft and glamorous," Couture Colour hairstylist Peter Savic told us.

Every one looked fabulous on the Red carpet ,even the guys looked pretty smart too!
